Captain Blye and the Rabbi: Episode 7

Welcome back to the show. Sorry about the layoff, but yours truly was off in Calgary last week for the Grey Cup. Full post on that still to come. But on to the show.

We went a little Habs crazy this week. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Montreal Canadiens, this week's show looks back at the history of Les Glorieux. We highlight the triumphs and the tragedies over the past 100 years. The 24 Cups, the 42 Hall of Famers are covered but also in this show are the struggles of the first few seasons, the team's almost failure during the Depression and of course how the team has struggled since 1993.

Happy Birthday Les Canadiens.

Check it out.

  2. Here's what I know. If the Leafs had owner like the Molson Family instead of Ballard during the 1970s and 80s who let a hockey guy run the team (like Selke or Pollock did with Canadiens), I guarantee that they would have won at least one Cup. The talent was absolutely there.

For over twenty years, the most important team in hockey had the league's worst owner and most inept front office. Boo the Habs' success if you want, but don't forget to give Our Pal Hal a middle finger too.

  3. Fuck the habs - Canada's team is the TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS (notice the key word "Canada" instead of "Quebec"). Everyone knows Ballard's a d-bag, nothing revolutionary there.

So, what does a fan of Canada's team have to say about a podcast solely on the Montreal Canadiens?
